Lumbar Support System

The lumbar support panel is an 'X' cut panel that sits above the back of the chamois in all Q36.5 shorts. The panel is made from a proprietary fabric that is woven with the highest density (510 warp modulus, 620 weft) of any other insert in the short; the ribbed structure acts as an architectural intervention, providing greater consistency in the fabric structure. This extreme compression (impossible, for example, with the knitted fabrics used by all other short manufacturers) creates a zone of support for the lumbar and gluteal muscles, providing the cyclist with improved stability, orientation, balance, and proprioception in this critical area, where all the major muscles involved in the athletic movement of pedaling are engaged.

SM-Anatomic seat pad

Our renowned Super Molded (SM) chamois is an extremely high-performance pad designed for a solid feel and 360° support. We've updated it by developing a full 3D molding that better follows the human anatomy and offers greater comfort while pedaling. The foam padding has been calibrated using variable densities and thicknesses in the perineal, ischial, genital, and gluteal areas, achieving extremely sophisticated tuning of its overall comfort. The pad uses a unique molding technique that produces smooth variations in padding thickness, significantly improving contact with the cyclist's skin.

Pre-shaped Fit

A pre-shaped garment is cut to create the least amount of resistance possible when the cyclist gets on the bike. In fact, cyclists will certainly notice how pre-shaped garments naturally "fall" into the pedaling position even when hung up. Consequently, the wearer may feel a slight tension while standing or notice some creases, but everything changes when they get on the bike. That's when they experience maximum comfort and aerodynamics.
